Starcount has compiled the list of Top Brands of 2013 in Social Media. It has aggregated the data across Facebook, Youtube and other sites to come up with its top 10 list. According to Starcount, Samsung was the most popular social-media brand worldwide in 2013.
Samsung has earned 16 million new followers across multiple platforms in the past 12 months which resulted in them gaining over 14 Million fans on Facebook, 4 Million followers on Twitter and over 86 Million views on YouTube— enough to get data aggregator Starcount’s top spot.
Walt Disney captivated both young and old audiences around the world. It came in second place, largely due to a one-million-follower increase on Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site. Celebrating its 125th anniversary, National Geographic grabbed the bronze after its top-rated YouTube channel got 160 million views this past year.
